I appreciated the coverage of the hostage issue in New Hampshire with the young office staff of Hillary Clinton. It was well done. I find her handling of it all exceptional. She would have been devastated if anything happened to those young people or the officers that responded.

Well done all the way around. Thank you.

Iraq Lacks Plan on the Return of Refugees, Military Says
By MICHAEL R. GORDON and STEPHEN FARRELL
Published: November 30, 2007
BAGHDAD, Nov. 29 — As
Iraqi refugees begin to stream back to Baghdad, American military officials say the Iraqi government has yet to develop a plan to absorb the influx and prevent it from setting off a new round of sectarian violence.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/30/world/middleeast/30refugees.html?hp

Countries such as Jordan and Syria that have been absorbing the Iraq refugee crisis like the idea that Iraqis should return home. The massive refugee emmigration is all part of the genocide instilled by the USA. Even today, there have been registered killings of innocent Iraqis by USA military. Not Blackwater this time. The killing fields of Iraq definately has the world saying this is genocide.

To that and the article from The New York Times, there is obviously still no for thought to the plight to the Iraqi people. Not only that, but, the returning refugees are being bribed to return. They aren't returning because they think it is safe, but, because they are being mislead into believing it is safe.

Cash gifts and warm welcome for returned Iraqi refugees
13 hours ago
BAGHDAD (AFP) — Iraq's immigration minister on Thursday welcomed with gifts of cash around 375 Iraqi refugees who returned during the night on a fleet of buses from neighbouring Syria, an AFP photographer said.
The convoy of buses, which left Damascus on Tuesday evening, arrived in Baghdad around 2.00 am Thursday (2300 GMT Wednesday) after being escorted across Iraq's dangerous highways by the Iraqi military.
Returnees were put up in a hotel on the banks of the Tigris, where they were later greeted by Immigration and Refugees Minister Abdel Samad Rahman Sultan during an official welcoming ceremony.
Each family was given one million dinars (800 dollars) to assist their resettlement before they left for their homes, Iraqi officials said.
"Immigration and Refugees Minister Abdel Samad Rahman Sultan participated in ceremonies welcoming the families," his ministry said in a statement. "He presented gifts to express the government's happiness for the return of Iraq's sons."
The convoy marked the start of a government effort to assist Iraqi refugees return home, government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said on Wednesday, adding that more would be organised in the coming days.
He put the number of Iraqis returning to the country in recent months at 60,000, but these figures have not been independently verified.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, 4.2 million Iraqis have been displaced since the US-led invasion of March 2003, including 750,000 who found refuge in Jordan, 1.4 million in Syria and about two million elsewhere in Iraq.
The latest Iraqi Red Crescent figures showed that the number of internally displaced people had grown to 2,299,425 people by the end of September, 16 percent more than at the end of August.

The manipulation of the people of Iraq, either inside the country or out is a remarkable feat.

Is what the US has been doing in Iraq genocide?
The answer given to this question by Dr. Ian Douglas, who teaches courses on political science at an-Najah International University and is a member of the Brussells Tribunal committee, is an open and clear “Yes.”
The massive tragedy that has been taking place right next to our country since April 2003 is unfortunately not given enough coverage by the Turkish media. The editorial “kitchens” of newspapers and televisions have become so used to the killing of dozens of Iraqis every day by Americans, insurgents or al-Qaeda members that they have ceased to attach any news value to these killings. Although the tragedy that claims lives every day seems to have created a kind of sentimental stupor in the media, this definitely does not mean that the tragedy is no longer there. This bloody tragedy, which we have become so used to, is stripping ourselves of our humanity, and is suffered every single day with all its terror in a country right next to us. Every moment it leaves a woman childless, husbandless, fatherless, brotherless, or leaves a child motherless, brotherless, fatherless, or without a grandfather, uncle or aunt.

The truth is, the Republicans had a debate and they all are 'selling the hype' that Bush's surge is a success. See, the Republicans call success 'the ends justify the means.' It is their philosophy in war, in economics and in government legislation. They are immoral. They have caused a genocide in Iraq, but, yet McCain will state, "I will continue the Surge because we are winning in Iraq."

"W"rong. The USA is committing genocide in Iraq and there is every indication as soon as the refugees return, the violence will begin all over again.

When over ten percent of a populous leave is displaced and at least half again as much are dead and then another full one third is living in abject poverty, the very ability of these people to oppose the war is weakened, except there are still people, a woman no less, who still straps on a bomb and walks into a group of American soldiers and blows herself up to attempt to kill them.

That is a stable Iraq? Iraqis are doing well?

There are all lies Anderson and you are attempting to shove the lies down the throats of the American public. We know it and that is why Republicans are losing the members to their party.

You disgust me !

CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: As we continue our coverage of You Decide '08, we're joined now from the campaign trail in New Hampshire by Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain.

You were, of course, a Navy flier, Senator McCain. You ever see a UFO?

SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, R-ARIZ., PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: I can't say that I did, but I kept looking all the time.

WALLACE: Well, that's good to know, that you were on the watch.
You've been going after Republican frontrunner Rudy Giuliani pretty heavy recently. When former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik was indicted on Friday on federal corruption charges, you said this raises questions about Giuliani's judgment.
And take a look at what your campaign manager had to say. "Rudy Giuliani has repeatedly placed personal loyalty over regard for the facts." So, Senator, what facts? Are you suggesting that Giuliani knew that Kerik was a crook?...

The FIT Musharraf took that manifested into HIS Emergency Coup was because he wanted to carry out destruction of an infrastructure that was going to dethrown him. There are human rights violations. Why it is that every Western News Service sees the 'moves' Perez accomplished as legal and now it's settled.

THAT ISN'T CORRECT. Perez Musharraf and President George Walker Bush in approval of the recent so called settlement. whereby there are now elections and Mushy is taking off his general's uniform, are commiting human rights abuses. The Musharraf government ILLEGALLY DETAINED a former Prime Minister on the way to a Freedom of Speech political rally, and at the same time has arrested hundreds of people INCLUDING Judges. Legally placed judges whom have done nothing wrong. And yet CNN and most other news agencies simply 'parrot' the same propaganda that comes out of the White House. Bush is GUILTY of allowing a coup leader, namely Musharraf, to continue to dominate a country completely destabilized by his coup status. This is outrageous. Musharraf MUST release all those he arrested and RETURN the judges to their rightful place in the Pakistani Judiciary. NOW !!!!

What is it with everybody? Bush is God and hence so is Musharraf? I don't think so !

Sacked judge in Pakistan appeal (click here)
Pakistanis must unite and stand up for the supremacy of the constitution, says the country's sacked chief justice.
Speaking to the BBC from virtual house arrest in Islamabad, Iftikhar Chaudhry said that an independent judiciary was essential for democracy in Pakistan.
Hundreds of lawyers and other critics of President Pervez Musharraf have been detained since he declared emergency rule on Saturday.
Pakistan's top human rights campaigner has made a plea for their release.
'Forget differences'
Mr Chaudhry has been a focus for opposition after Gen Musharraf tried to remove him from office in March following a number of court judgements against the government.
He made his appeal to Pakistanis in an interview with the BBC Urdu service from his home in the capital, Islamabad.
"I would like to appeal to all the people of Pakistan and the political parties to forget their differences," he said.
"It's time we stood up for the supremacy of the constitution as well as the rule of law and an independent judiciary which is indispensable for democracy as well as tackling terrorism."
And he repeated that he did not recognise his dismissal, or that of a number of other judges, by Gen Musharraf.
"I am still the chief justice of the Supreme Court and the judges are still the judges under the constitution."
Most lawyers are boycotting the courts and correspondents say the judicial process in Pakistan is virtually paralysed....

Candy Crowley.

There is a huge difference between the Democratic majority Congress and the past MESS the people of this country actually had the audacity to call a legislature. The Democratic Congress ACTUALLY was in attendence and WORKED.

Culture Shock on Capitol Hill: House to Work 5 Days a Week (click here)

Forget the minimum wage. Or outsourcing jobs overseas. The labor issue most on the minds of members of Congress yesterday was their own: They will have to work five days a week starting in January....

The Truth of the Matter is simply this, the Congress that was replaced WAS indeed "The Do Nothing Congress." They had the least days in session than any other Congress since the 80th Congress of the USA (click here). 99 convened sessions. 99. 99. 99. 99. GET IT RIGHT !!!

Congress called on to replace 'devastating' cuts in Medicare reimbursements by ACP (click here)
'10.1 percent cut will accelerate collapse of primary care'
(Washington) – The American College of Physicians (ACP) today renewed its call on Congress to replace the 10.1 percent devastating cuts in Medicare reimbursements set to take effect Jan. 1 with at least two years of positive updates that are paid for in a way that does not make the problem worse in future years. The organization of 124,000 internal medicine physicians, related subspecialists and medical students reacted to the final physician fee schedule published late last Thurs. by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
“The cuts will accelerate the collapse of primary care, create access problems and manufacture obstacles to fundamental reform of physician policies,” emphasized ACP President David C. Dale, MD, FACP. “It is essential that lawmakers agree on an immediate fix that will provide positive and stable updates, support patient-centered care coordinated by a personal physician, and create the building blocks for long-term reform of a flawed payment system.”
More than half of physicians say they will have to limit their acceptance of new Medicare patients if payments are cut as projected in 2008, according to a survey conducted by the American Medical Association, and two-thirds of physicians say they plan to defer purchasing information technology. Physician payment rates are about the same today as they were in 2001, while a typical practice’s costs have increased nearly 20 percent during that same time period, it said.
“Prior to its August recess this year, the U.S. House of Representatives took action to ensure our seniors retain access to high-quality health care,” Dr. Dale noted. “The legislation replaced projected 15 percent cuts in Medicare payment rates for all physician services over the next two years with positive updates of 0.5 percent. Importantly, it also provided $20 billion in offsets to pay for positive updates instead of using budget gimmicks that, experience has shown, would only make the problem harder to solve in subsequent years.”...

I agree there is mass chaos throughout the region of Afghanistan and Pakistan. However, let's get one thing straight about Osama and al Qaeda. They came to prominence because of the chronic class struggle in Middle Eastern countries. These countries have leadership that have been in place for decades and in the case of some countries centuries through lineage of Kings and Queens. There is a chronic class struggle for power. THAT is what Osama bin Laden plugged into. That is why social structure that removes impoverishment and empowers education is a very real strategy against terrorist networks.

I do believe there is however a real mess in the Middle East due to the invasion of Iraq and the subsequent abandonment of the war in Afghanistan, but, there is also hope.

‘Annapolis meeting starting point towards successful peace talks’

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday addresses an audience at Royal College of Defence Studies in London at the end of a three-day visit to the UK (Photo by Yousef Allan)
LONDON (Petra) - His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday underscored the need to use the US-proposed international Mideast peace conference to launch comprehensive negotiations that could lead to a Palestinian-Israeli agreement on final status issues and to an independent Palestinian state.
In remarks he made during a visit to the Royal College of Defence Studies, King Abdullah stressed the centrality of the Palestinian issue, which, he said, is the core conflict between the Arab and Islamic worlds and Israel.
The Monarch emphasised that finding a just solution to the Palestinian issue will bring solutions to several problems in the Middle East.
King Abdullah described as a step in the right direction recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on the possibility of genuine progress in the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations before the end of US President George W. Bush’s term in office.
During a recent meeting with a US delegation, Olmert described the Mideast peace conference, to be held in Annapolis, as a very important milestone that could garner international support for negotiations based on a two-state slution.
King Abdullah highlighted the importance of seriously tackling core problems related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the near future, particularly final status issues.
Achieving a fair and comprehensive peace will result in regional development and stability, he stressed.

Sad remembrance
Two years ago this day, Jordanians were jolted out of their habitual life by acts of terror unprecedented in the country. Scores of innocent people were killed and over a hundred injured in suicide attacks at three hotels in the capital.
By no means strangers to violence and terror - after all, the area around us is a massive operating theatre for such manifestations - the country that prides itself on being an oasis of stability and security was faced with its deadly reality.
Devastating and unsettling, Al Qaeda’s criminal acts were a wake-up call of sort. They brought home heinous deeds that only TV screens could show, that only could happen to the outside world, but not to us. But it brought about many more things too.
For days, and it is persisting, a careful look reveals, Jordanian flags fluttered from cars in a proud show of solidarity and belonging. They were saying that we were all sons of this country, and nothing some miscreants do could take that away from us. That we are all proud of this country, and will do everything to reclaim our peace.
Those were a few immediate feelings displayed in a show of unity rarely seen.

Saudi king holds talks with German officials
Agencies
SAUDI ARABIA’S KING Abdullah toured Berlin’s famed Brandenburg Gate on Thursday, following a meeting with Germany’s foreign minister on the second day of his official visit here.
Abdullah held talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Horst Koehler following his arrival in Berlin on Wednesday.
The king met Thursday with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who recently returned from a trip to the Middle East. Steinmeier later signed a tax agreement with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Saud Al Faisal, as well as a declaration of intent to hold regular foreign policy consultations.
Later in the day, Abdullah toured downtown Berlin, including the Brandenburg Gate, which stood for decades on the eastern side of the Wall that divided the city.
The king’s visit is part of a European tour that already has taken him to Britain, where he discussed terrorism and the Middle East peace process with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and the Vatican where he met with Pope Benedict XVI.

It isn't as though Bergan doesn't know his stuff about al Qaeda, he does, but, there is bigger picture than that and it is 'the street' we need to understand and empower to which the dismantling of al Qaeda will then ensue. Al Qaeda can only exist in a power vacuum of suffering.

Former NY police chief accused over work on flat· Republican rivals seize on case to shame frontrunner Ed Pilkington in New York

Rudy Giuliani's bid to become Republican candidate for US president faces months of questioning on the campaign trail, after his friend and protege Bernard Kerik was yesterday charged with corruption and lying to cover-up his misdeeds.
Mr Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, faces embarrassment in connection with his long-term friend who stands accused of a corrupt relationship with a firm linked to the mob. Mr Giuliani appointed Mr Kerik in 2000 to be New York police commissioner, and also put his name forward in 2004 to be head of the department of homeland security....

My Problem with Congress is...that is has people like Rick Sanchez willing to distort the truth regarding the propaganda he is trying to put forward because the real problem is that Bush and Cheney continue to play politics with the people of this nation and WON'T let Congress carry forth vital legislation that was mandated in the elections of 2006 when there was a change in the majority in the House and Senate.

And...now...as a result for the shift in majority in 2006 we continue to have a country with a diminished national security, insoluble debt, the worst economy since the Revolutionary War and NO WAY OUT !!!!

Try peddling that Rick Sanchez and you might have a show worth watching. CNN continues to be NO help to the people of the USA, so much as an instrument of propaganda for the Religious Right.

Here we go again. The White Man's world of the Christian Coalition. Between them they are 140 years old. Robertson is 77 and Giuliani is 63. How old world can one get? One thing is true about both, they are opportunists. They deserve each other.

Basically, the rest of the hour was primarily non-news, and avoided discussion about the failures in Afghanistan and the reporting to prison by still another corrupt Republican.

PUL-I-KHUMRI, Afghanistan (AFP) — Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday declared three days of national mourning after 52 people were killed, six of them lawmakers, in the country's deadliest suicide bombing.
Hundreds of people attended funerals for the dead in the rural town of Pul-i-Khumri, 150 kilometres (90 miles) north of Kabul, where the attacker targeted a crowd gathered Tuesday to welcome visiting parliamentarians.
A military plane flew the bodies of the six MPs, including prominent opposition figure Mustafa Kazimi, back to the capital, where several government officials attended a ceremony.
The parliamentarians, elected in 2005, four years after the removal of the Taliban government -- were to be given a state funeral on Thursday....

US Air Force ground ageing F-15 fighter jets (click here)

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The US Air Force has grounded all its F-15 fighter planes after an accident in Missouri triggered concerns about the ageing fleet, officials said Tuesday.
The decision comes after Japan on Sunday grounded its F-15 fleet after it was informed by US forces that an Air National Guard F-15 fighter jet had crashed.
"The cause of that accident is still under investigation," the US Air Force said in a statement.
"Preliminary findings indicate that a possible structural failure of the aircraft may have occurred. The suspension of flight operations is a precautionary measure."...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- With U.S. F-15 fighters ordered to stand by in Afghanistan, French fighters are providing close-air support for U.S. troops and their allies there, the Military Times reported Wednesday.
Since a Nov. 2 crash of a F-15C Eagle in Missouri, the U.S. AirForce has restricted flights of F-15Es and F-15Cs to "mission-critical" sorties only.
In Afghanistan, where F-15Es take off from Bagram Air Base, the restriction means that F-15Es sit on combat alert status but are not assigned to pre-planned or on-call missions.
In the absence of F-15s, French Mirage 2000 and F-1 CR fighters were summoned for two air strikes and more shows of force above enemy positions in Afghanistan.
Japan has also grounded its F-15s following the U.S. crash....

Former Ill. Gov. Ryan Reports to Prison (click here)

Associated Press Writer
OXFORD, Wis. (AP) - Accompanied by his wife and a longtime friend, former Illinois Gov. George Ryan avoided the media but not the inevitable Wednesday when he walked into prison to start serving a 6-year corruption sentence.
The 73-year-old Republican dodged a throng of media members at the main entrance to the minimum-security federal prison camp in central Wisconsin, then donned the standard-issue clothing worn by the more than 200 other inmates there - tan shirt and pants, white socks and steel-toed shoes...

How much of the USA Treasury is DEVOTED to the military and we don't have competent planes in the air over Afghanistan? What? This is the USA? Where? And Cooper and Conservative Media won't even MENTION it yet alone expoit it? Really? These aren't news services to the people of the USA, these are propaganda outlets ! Do you like being irrelevant and nothing more than a distraction for a misguided USA's populous in regard to what the dangers they face in the light of incompetent Republicans, Andy? Impeachment is the word. Can't seem to find the word and it's meaning in real life in America today? I am not surprised.

And this country wants ANOTHER Republican? You've got to be joking. When one listens to the Conservative media they are chronically selling 'the ideology' of the party as the major concern of the USA. That is why Pat Robertson came out of his 'power grab' closet. There isn't anything worthwhile regarding this administration or any Republican administration except more exploitation of the USA treasury, more war, more global suffering at the lack of REAL policy and more and more fiscal irresponsibility.

Fiscal responsiblity to Conservatives is lowing taxes to put more money in their pockets while cutting services to the country and placing their very lives at risk at any cost IN HOPES their 'privatized' nation eeks out enough income to make government a worthwhile thought. They are nothing but PURE, UNADULTEREDATED GREED.

That's all Republicans are.

There is NOTHING efficient or worthwhile about the Bush/Cheney adminisration. They have not been able to generate high levels of income to the USA treasury WITHOUT increasing huge fiscal overriding debt. It makes Republicans happy to have money in their pockets and they want it all back with no government oversight or existance at all, but, they YET under any Republican administration have been able to prove the idea of expansive privatization can support this government and it's people with a healthy margin of safety to it's populous.

Republicans run marginal governments with large deficits and have never been able to exhibit, and I do mean NEVER, have been able to demonstrate their ideology works in this country or any other country. Their foreign policies are those of exploitation and not mutual benevolence. Where and when were Republicans EVER successful in fulfilling a promise of their ideologies. The ONLY aspect of Guiliani's candidacy that any Christian Conservative cares about is the 'ideaology' of defeating Roe v. Wade. To that end they will sacrifice all including their own national security to the hands of incompetents. They are simply bizarre and narcisstic without regard to appropriate government and the well being of the nation.
Let's take it one step further:
The Bush/Cheney administration 'isolate' statistics to 'pretend' to have a buoyant economy. It isn't true.
In this article from The New York Times it is noted that an isolated statistic regarding productivity is showing increased commodity, HOWEVER, what is not at all apparent in those same PROPAGANDA reports of Bush/Cheney economics is the desperation they have gone to ARTIFICALLY inflate the USA economy as successful.

...“We will favor stronger currencies over weaker ones, and will readjust accordingly,” Cheng Siwei, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress told a conference in Beijing on Wednesday. A Chinese central bank vice director, Xu Jian, said the dollar was “losing its status as the world currency,” according to Bloomberg News....

Besides record USA debt, the Consumer is in insoluable debt and unable to recupeate in the face of The Fed dumping huge amounts of money into the USA economy. Quite literally what Bush and Cheney have done in 'their Conservative strategy' against the USA electorate is deceive them regarding 'the entire' picture that buoys their failing economy. There is no competent economic stategy of Republcans. You cannot cut taxes and insure the fiscal responsibility of the USA. It's going to cave in and the Ameican people don't feel it enough to believe they are involved with a failed and failing economic strategy. The Conservatives blame the current Democratic majority for any failure when in fact the Democrats are simply trying to return programs and fiscal responsibility to the nation. It's not easy being 'the fall guy' to the Republican Greed Machine.
